Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta is a small town on the west coast of Mexico, renowned for being the friendliest city in the world. PV first came to the international scene in the 1960’s with the making of the film “Night of the Iguana” here. Since then it has continued to grow in popularity both as a vacation and residential destination, but never more so than in the last five years when extensive development of all types has taken place.
Puerto Vallarta is now a major tourist spot, and attracts visitors from all over the world. World standard hotels, resorts and restaurants are easy to find here. Beach culture, including everything from luxury beach clubs to water sports, sport fishing, yacht charters and boat trips to seasonal whale watching, are all available. Many different adventure activities take place in the surrounding jungle, such as the Canopy Tours, hiking, horse riding, mountain biking, ATV and quad bike adventures, and of course sight seeing tours – some more rugged than others!
Medical tourism here is also growing rapidly, dentistry and plastic surgery are the services that are most sought after. Infact the first Puerto Vallarta Medical and Wellness Destination Expo was held here in September of 2009 which is to be an annual event.
Puerto Vallarta takes on another personality at night, with a multitude of restaurants, clubs and bars offering something for everyone. You could even brush up on your Spanish here with a number of schools offering everything from individual tuition to intensive immersion style. You can browse the shops and boutiques, jewelry, art, souvenirs and beautiful Mexican handcrafts and home interior items being the main merchandise on offer. Take a trip to one of the Tequila tasting spots or further a field to explore “off the beaten track” mountain villages and beach locations.
Actually, you could struggle to find time to get your smile fixed!
